First Blog Post - A Truly Wild Ride!
Happy Sunday!!
And happy first blog post! I'm so glad to be sharing this journey of mine with you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I wouldn't be able to live my dreams without it.
This month has been an incredibly wild ride. I successfully completed the illustrations to my first children's book "Carefree Like Me!" For those of you who are unaware, I launched a Kickstarter campaign for my first children's book series that is aimed at addressing cultural diversity, spirituality, and emotional literacy for kids in a fun and approachable way. I succeeded at funding beyond my wildest dreams. The story follows the adventures of two best friends, Amir and Neena, as they are pulled magically from their world to the "Land of the Spirits." They encounter 7 heroes there, each one representing a different emotional challenge and a different chakra. The only way for them to get back home is to use their emotional intelligence, and let me tell you... the craziness starts from page one! It's been a real passion project from the beginning, and I'm so thrilled to share my love with you all too.
This month has also been the real start of my journey into being an entrepreneur and businessman, and I've taken to the streets with a passion I didn't know I had. It's felt amazing.
I participated in my first vendor booth session which was wildly successful! The owner of the Conservatory Mansion in Trenton, NJ suggested that I get in contact with a wonderful woman running the event called Artburst in Autumn. It showcased local talent and supported local businesses, and I am eternally grateful for them allowing me to be a part of the event. I met so many people who were genuinely excited about what I had to offer and either offered me opportunities or became new clients. The event was a great deal of fun and taught me a lot as well. I will also be participating in my 2nd ever vendor booth in Newark, NJ on November 26, 2016 at the Newark Airport's Marriot at 8pm! The event is being hosted by Linden New Day Associates, and I'll be selling prints of my work along with taking pre-orders for my book/ taking new sign-ups for my newsletter.
